Our Library supports and inspires learning across our entire College community.

Facilities

Our Library contains a wide range of resources and flexible learning areas. It is a building that has been designed to support new pedagogies and to meet the diverse needs of students and staff from the early years to senior schooling. Our facilities include:

A purpose built computer laboratory with interactive whiteboard
Collaborative work spaces
Seating for our smallest to our tallest visitors
Individual study and reading corners
Distributed technology
Dedicated and flexible teaching areas

Services

Our library staff has a strong commitment to actively serving all members of our College community.

Our Teacher Librarian works in collaboration with teachers to provide support, encouragement and instruction to classes, groups and individual students. Our goal is to produce discriminating lifelong learners skilled in the use of information and communication technologies and able to access and utilise information from a wide range of sources.

Another important aspect of our work is reading promotion. A number of special events throughout the year focus specifically on encouraging students to read widely. These include:

The Premier’s Reading Challenge
Book Week
Book Clubs each term and an annual Book Fair
A Digital Book Talk group

Collection

As a relatively new school our collection is constantly growing. It includes online subscriptions as well as a range of print resources such as magazines, graphic novels and traditional books suited to pre-readers through to young adults. Our support staff and volunteers play a vital role in making our resources available: managing the circulation desk; reshelving books and preparing new resources for borrowing.

Volunteering

Our Library Supporters’ Group meets on the first and third Friday of every month in our library workroom. New parents are especially welcome as this is a great way to meet other parents, learn about our library and make a valuable contribution to the quality of the service we are able to provide.
