The Lakes College prides itself on a highly effective program in Prep. Each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially.

Our curriculum fosters intrinsic motivation and stimulates passion to learn. Our academic based program has proven to be successful as the prep students have reached high scores in assessments, always achieving well above the national cohort.

We also understand that coming into school for the first time is one of mixed emotions for parents and so we work with you on transitions your child might be experiencing. It is important to us that the first year of schooling is a happy and rewarding experience for your child and the whole family.

Our specialist program begins in Prep with all students in the Primary school learning a musical instrument and Mandarin Chinese as well as engaging in physical activity through PE lessons and sport. Students in Prep learn to play the violin and from Year 4 they may choose from a range of orchestral instruments.

The College provides a technology rich learning environment enabling learners to become effective, efficient and productive in their life pursuits. Students develop the competencies necessary to use technology as a tool to create, access, synthesize, evaluate, and communicate information. All classrooms are equipped with Promethean Interactive Whiteboards.
