Relief Teacher and/or Relief Learning Assistant

The Lakes College welcomes expressions of interest for relief teaching and teacher aide work across our Primary and Secondary schools at any time during the year.

  • Proof of current vaccination status (the College is considered as a high-risk setting)

Vocational Teacher Aide Placements

The Lakes College will not be taking on any vocational placements until Semester 2 of 2022.

Candidates enrolled to study a Certificate III in Educational Support can apply for a Vocational Teacher Aide placement at any time during the year, however applications are pooled for consideration as part of two block placements per year.

Block placement one covers Term 1 & 2 and Block placement 2 covers Term 3 & 4.

Places are limited, and successful candidates must be prepared to work across both the Primary and Secondary schools. A vocational placement with the College does not guarantee employment with the College on completion of your course.

Secondary Visual Art Teacher

We faithfully invite candidates to apply for the role of Secondary Visual Art Teacher. This will be a full-time parental leave cover contract from Monday 20 May 2024 to Friday 4 July 2025.

The position

Reporting to the Head of Secondary, as the Visual Art Teacher, you will engage, inspire and enrich all students, exciting their imagination and encouraging them to reach their creative and expressive potential.

You will be a passionate and influential Educator with a demonstrated ability to foster a love of artistic expression and experimentation in students across the Junior and Senior Secondary school.

You will develop and deliver a contemporary, innovative curriculum which is underpinned by clear expectations about high quality learning outcomes in a culturally diverse society.

The successful candidate will need to collaborate as a stakeholder and co-coordinator with the Primary Art Teacher for the College ‘Imagination Art Exhibition’ scheduled for Term 4, a significant College event where the artistic pursuits and talents of students from Prep to Year 12 are showcased.

The successful candidate will need to teach Junior Media Arts as part of their 2024 timetable.

Food and Nutrition Teacher

As a Food and Nutrition Teacher, you will be able to apply the QCAA Food and Nutrition Syllabus with a focus on food science, nutrition, and food technologies. You will also play an important role in the engagement of junior secondary students as they explore designed solutions within the areas of food and fibre production, food specialisation, and technology specialisation. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate their understanding of the relevant QCAA and ACARA curriculum and how they can apply it in a contemporary educational setting, while also catering to the learning needs of their students.
