From the Head of College
Welcome to The Lakes College website. Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your children and we hope you enjoy reading about the opportunities we offer our students and families in our young and vibrant learning community. It is certainly a place where I love to come each day.
Our College offers a high quality, independent school education built on Christian values and beliefs, where we strive to nurture the holistic growth of our students in a safe and challenging learning environment.
We believe that if we are to optimise learning, the College must be a happy place, full of optimism, excitement and challenge, where we see each day as a journey, full of purpose and understanding. Your child should feel safe to learn and valued as a learner and as a member of our growing community. We work hard to nurture a safe, non threatening place for your child to learn and grow, within a disciplined environment.
With our innovative curriculum, offering Instrumental Music and Chinese from Prep, our strong emphasis on numeracy and literacy and our focus on music and physical activity we have a clear vision for holistic education that provides opportunities for our students to explore and develop their potential. We want our graduates to be well educated, resilient, creative, compassionate and respectful people of influence. Our extensive extra curricular program provides oportunities for students to build self confidence in sport, performing and visual arts and community service activities and provides a foundation for a balanced approach to life.
Our teachers are committed to the achievement of quality educational outcomes for our students and to their own continous improvement in their teaching and learning practice. With the provision of a safe and happy learning environment in the classroom, playground and sports fields, teachers engender enthusiasm for learning and relate well to our students.
