Having your little one start school is a very exciting time for everyone! Below are a list of questions that we are frequently asked. We hope that these questions may be of assistance to you as you consider Prep at The Lakes College.
How early do we need to lodge an application for Prep?
To ensure your child is registered and in the waiting pool for Prep, it is suggested that you lodge an application for your child by their third birthday (this may change depending on demand at the requested year of entry). To commence in Prep children need to be turning 5 (or already turned 5) by 30 June in the year they start Prep. Please refer to the age table on the enrolments page for clarification.
We have already received a significant number of registrations for Prep in 2022.
How do we register or enrol?
Please register your child online and to avoid delays in the enrolment process please ensure you have:
Come along to one of our Enrolment Events to experience life at TLC.
We're in the Waiting Pool. What happens next?
Once you submit an application for registration, your child's name is added to the waiting pool and you will receive notification from the College via email.
In March prior to the year of commencement, names are drawn from the waiting pool in accordance with the College's enrolment policy. You may be contacted by email to commence the interview process for your child. Please ensure your contact details are kept up to date. You can email changes through at anytime to email@example.com. Sometimes there are a lot more applications than places. You are welcome to enquire about your child's place at anytime by contacting the Enrolments Office.
As mentioned above, we have already received a significant amount of registrations for Prep for next year (2022). Those in the waiting pool will be contacted for interviews based on the criteria in our enrolment policy. You may not be contacted immediately for an interview, but you will be advised of your child's progress in the waiting pool. Please note that enrolment interviews for 2021 are taking place via Skype or Zoom.
We've had our Interview. What happens next?
Following on from your child's enrolment interview, a letter of offer may be made. This offer letter will be emailed to the email address provided. Please respond to your letter of offer, with the non-refundable $400.00 Confirmation Fee paid by the due date. Please ensure you complete a medical form, data form and read the Parent Handbook.
If you do not respond to your offer by the due date, your child's offer will be withdrawn and their name returned to the waiting pool. Due to the demand for places in Prep we are unable to extend offers.
We've confirmed our spot. What happens now?
Once you've paid your confirmation fee and lodged your Family Enrolment Deposit, your child's enrolment is confirmed!
