Finance Officer (Payroll & HR)

  • This will be a permanent part-time role working a seven-day fortnight.
  • Payroll Week A | Monday to Thursday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm
  • Non-payroll Week B | Tuesday to Thursday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Officer (Payroll & HR) is responsible for a broad range of internal payroll and human resource functions.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer (Payroll & HR) will support the administration of our payroll functions including the preparation and processing for the fortnightly payroll, superannuation and ATO compliance.

Responsible to the HR Advisor, the Finance Officer (Payroll & HR) will support the coordination of core HR processes at the College such as recruitment and selection, staff engagement, onboarding and orientation, staff departures and HR record and database management.

The successful candidate must ensure a high standard of data integrity and reporting, and compliance with legislative requirements and college policies and procedures.

The Finance Officer (Payroll & HR) must maintain confidentiality and monitor their level of disclosure on all issues related to the College payroll and human resource matters.

Candidates need to also address the following selection criteria as part of their application.

  1. Demonstrated full-cycle payroll administration experience (i.e. salary and wages, superannuation, PAYG, FBT).
  2. Demonstrated experience in the administration of the employment lifecycle (i.e. recruitment and selection, engagement and onboarding, qualifying periods, termination and departure).
  3. Highly developed office administration skills, within an educational environment (favourable).
  4. Highly developed computer literacy as it relates to office administration including the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Well-developed organisational and time management skills to be able to meet deadlines and handle large and complex workloads across two functional areas of the College.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to negotiate solutions.
  7. High level of accuracy and process adherence as required within heavily regulated areas of the College.
