2025 TLC Alumni of the Year | Opal Francis

At The Lakes College, we often speak of the learning journey of our students, one that begins in the early years, grows stronger through thirteen years of schooling, and continues long after graduation. It is a journey that goes beyond academics, it is the shaping of character, the building of courage, and the discovery of purpose. This year, we proudly honour Opal Francis (Class of 2019) as the 2025 TLC Alumni of the Year – a graduate who has taken the light of learning beyond our gates and…

Future-Ready Kids: Why AI in Education Isn’t Just for High Schoolers

A shimmer of dragon scales glows on the interactive whiteboard. “What words can we use to make this more exciting?” the teacher asks, encouraging the Prep students to brainstorm. Celebrating Our Legacy of Growth

Since our inception, the imagery of trees and growth has been woven into the fabric of our College. The Pine Tree, a symbolic wreath on our logo, represents this legacy. In 2005, we planted 88 Pine Trees on the bottom Primary oval to honour our 88 Foundation students and their families. In 2009, our Year 8 cohort planted 14 Tulipwood trees, marking their journey to becoming our first Year 12 graduates in 2013.
