Primary Classroom Teacher

The Lakes College is looking to recruit a Primary Classroom Teacher to fill a 12-month leave cover contract for the 2026 school year.

Responsible to the Head of Primary, you will act under the direction of the Deputy Head of Primary (Learning Transformation), developing and delivering a contemporary, innovative curriculum which is underpinned by clear expectations about high-quality learning outcomes in a culturally diverse society.

As Primary Classroom Teacher, you play an important role in the engagement of our primary school students as they journey to become successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate their understanding of the will be able to apply the Australian Curriculum (ACARA) and how they can apply it in a contemporary educational setting, while also catering to the learning needs of their students.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Curriculum (ACARA) within a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of pastoral support to the learning journey of students.
  • Demonstrated experience building a culture of positive relationship management with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to the Uniting Church ethos as an inclusive multicultural College community.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications as needed for the role.
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers registration.
