The Lakes College community enjoyed a fun start to the day as we welcomed Ken and Nicky from Rise 96.5, who broadcast their breakfast show live from the College.
Students and staff gathered early to experience the excitement of live radio, with the Rise 96.5 team bringing great music, plenty of laughs and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere to the morning. Throughout the broadcast, Ken and Nicky spoke with several members of our College community, including Principal Mrs Gregory, Rev Tim, and our Primary and Secondary Captains, who shared insights into life at The Lakes College and what makes our community so special.
One of the highlights of the morning was the live #HashtagHappies segment, where students shared what they are grateful for or happy about. Responses ranged from friendships and family to horses! The segment sparked lots of smiles and laughter and gave everyone a chance to reflect on the little things that make their day brighter.
Students loved being part of the live broadcast, enjoying the upbeat music, free breakfast and the chance to win some fun prizes. It certainly made for a different and exciting start to the school day, with many students stopping by to listen and maybe have their chance to be on the radio.
Experiences like this help bring our community together and give students a unique opportunity to connect with media in a real-world setting.
