The Lakes College Uniform Shop

New students are required to book a fitting time with the Uniform Shop. Booking a fitting time means that you do not have to queue and means that our Uniform Staff are available to adequately assist you with sizing. Price lists and contact details are available on our website here. The Lakes College school bag is a requirement.

Prep students require a spare uniform (including socks and underwear) to be kept in their school bags. Prep students are allowed to purchase velcro formal shoes and sports shoes. All other year levels should be wearing black leather lace-up formal shoes and predominantly white sports shoes (with white shoe laces). Please refer to the Parent Handbook for more information.

Blazers are compulsory for Secondary students.

Second Hand Uniform Shop (run by our P&F known as TLCCA)

Good used uniforms and accessories such as school bags, are available for purchase and the current list is available here. The Second Hand Uniform Shop is located next to our TLC Uniform Shop in the top carpark.

Our Finance Office is located in the Administration Centre. Closer to your commencement at the College, you will receive your statement by email from our Finance Office. Please see our Finance section for information on fees and the required forms for setting up regular payments via direct debit etc.

College Care

Please note that children entering Prep in 2020 are not able to access College Care until the first day of Term 1, 28 January 2020. It is College policy that all Primary aged children are registered for College Care.

Wellness Centre

The College Wellness Centre is located in the Primary undercover area. A Medical Form is required to be completed for each child commencing at the College. If a management plan or alert exists for your child, you are requested to contact The Wellness Centre to complete a handover prior to your child's commencement at the College.

Primary families - All your books and stationery are provided in the classroom.


Secondary Families - Please click on the links to access the book lists for 2019. Online orders have now closed, stationery can still be purchased from Sequel or other suppliers.

You can purchase these items from the supplier on the list or any stationery store.


Secondary students are allocated a locker. An application form must be completed and returned to the Secondary Office. Locker Application Forms will be made available in January.

Extra Curricular

The following activities are available during Term 4:


Music at The Lakes College is provided through three complimentary areas:

  • Classroom Music - compulsory in Primary, elective in Secondary
  • Instrumental Music Tuition - Year 3 Strings & Year 4 Instrumental Immersion classes, Music Studio Tuition - Private & Group instrumental and vocal lessons (Prep - Year 12)
  • Ensembles - choirs, string ensembles, concert bands, specialist & extension ensembles
  • Year 3 Strings Immersion classes

    All Year 3 students learn a String instrument – violin, viola, cello or double bass. Students trial each at the end of Year 2 and are allocated their instrument at the start of year 3. Students new to the College will trial for their instrument at the start of the year or upon their arrival.

    Year 4 Strings Immersion classes

    All Year 4 students learn an instrument, either continuing on their string instrument or other options from the Woodwind, Brass and Percussion families. Students trial each instrument at the end of Year 3 and are allocated their instrument at the start of Year 4. Students new to the College will trial for their instrument at the start of the year or upon their arrival.

    Music Studio Tuition

    Music Studio is operated and staffed by The Lakes College and offers a wide range of instrumental and vocal music tuition by highly qualified specialist music staff. Private and Group tuition is available, and lessons are scheduled weekly on a rotating timetable.

    Music Studio tuition is available to students from Prep to Year 12. Lessons are tailored to suit individual student’s needs and aspirations and provide excellent support to both Classroom and Ensemble programs.

    There is a range of music ensembles at The Lakes College, and we enjoy a busy schedule of performances, including assemblies, showcase performances and competitions. Choirs, String Ensembles, Concert Bands and Specialist Ensembles all rehearse weekly, and we have options for students in Prep to Year 12. For a full list of ensembles, please see the Music Handbook. Students in instrumental ensembles are required to be currently enrolled in some form of tuition.

    China 2020 - Y6 and Secondary

    Students entering Year 6 in 2020 can nominate to join the China Trip which will be in Term 1. Please note, this trip is now full.

    Students entering Secondary School can also nominate an expression of interest to join the Secondary China Trip. In the September school holidays, students will have the opportunity to travel to China to experience Chinese culture firsthand and put their language into practice in an authentic real-world environment. They will build upon their language skills through travelling to amazing historical sites, using their language in an authentic setting and sampling delicious traditional Chinese cuisine.

    Students will be able to experience and gain a thorough understanding of the content they will learn through the ATAR syllabus. We tour the historical capital cities of Beijing and Xi’An, as well as the financial capital of China Shanghai, visiting world famous attractions such as The Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Warriors, The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Bund. This overseas tour provides students the opportunity to see the world through different perspectives and broaden their intercultural understanding and foster positive relationships with people from another culture.At this stage, expressions of interest are being taken.     College Communication

    Please download our app to stay up to date with all of the College activities and events. The app gives you access to many portals relating to the College, including our Parent Handbook. Please read more information here. Please note the Bus timetable is available on the College app.

    Email is our main method of communication, please ensure your contact details are kept up to date. You can update your contact details anytime by logging into Parent Lounge.

    Once you commence at TLC, your login details to the parent portals will be emailed to you by the Primary and Secondary offices. This will give you access to the two parent portals - Parent Lounge, Seqta Engage and the online payment portal Flexischools. For any questions please speak to your Primary or Secondary Offices.

    • Thursday 17 October - 28 November - Year 7 2020 Settling in Sessions (program TBC)
    • Monday 28 October -Year 6 Experience Day (Year 7 2020)
    • Monday 18 November (Group 1), Tuesday 19 November (Group 2), Wednesday 20 November (Group 3) is the Prep Orientation 9:00am-10:00am. Invitations will be emailed in Term 4 from the Primary Office with your allocated day.
    • Wednesday 4 December - Step Up Session (t11:00am-12noon) for students entering Year 1-6 in 2020. Join your class for one hour.
    • Prep Parent Information Session - held on an evening the week before the school year commences (Date TBC).
    • Friday 24 January - Launch Day - Meet Your Teacher and get ready for the 2020 school year! Allocation of laptops, timetables, visit the Cafe, sign up for extra-curricular, familiarise yourself with TLC.
    • School Year commences - Tuesday 28 January 2020 at 8:30am.
